Andrei Nikolishin's tiebreaking goal late in the second period Thursday sent the Colorado Avalanche to a 4-2 preseason victory over the Dallas Stars.
Nikolishin scored his third preseason goal at 14:19 of the second period to break a 1-1 tie.
Colorado put the game away with third-period power play goals by Paul Kariya and Teemu Selanne, extending the lead to 4-1.
Phillippe Sauve made 25 saves for the Avalanche.
Marty Turco, playing his first full game of the preseason after a training camp contract holdout, stopped 18 shots for the Stars.
Scott Young gave the Stars a 1-0 lead at 1:25 of the first period, and Young added his second goal of the game with 5:32 left.
Sharks 4, Canucks 3
In San Jose, California, Jonathan Cheechoo broke a scoreless tie at 7:55 of the first period on assists from Mike Rathje and Mike Ricci as San Jose edged Vancouver.
The Canucks rallied to lead 2-1 on goals by Sami Salo at 9:23 and Artem Chubarov at 9:45. The Sharks then quickly fought back to regain the lead with a three-goal burst within a stretch of just 1:40.
Vincent Damphousse scored at 12:33, Christian Ehrhoff at 13:59 and Wayne Primeau at 14:13. The second period was scoreless, but the Canucks drew closer 1:57 into the third period on a goal from point-blank range by Magnus Arvedson.
Vancouver took 35 shots on goal to San Jose's 24. Sharks goalie Evgeni Nabokov saved 32 of 35 shots, and Vancouver's Tyler Moss saved 20 of 24.
Mighty Ducks 3, Coyotes 1
In Phoenix, Sergei Fedorov scored his first goal in an Anaheim uniform as the Mighty Ducks beat Phoenix.
Craig Johnson and Joffrey Lupul also scored for Anaheim, unbeaten in its last five preseason games. Landon Wilson scored for the Coyotes, who have lost consecutive home games by a combined score of 9-2.
Phoenix defenseman Brad Ference was struck in the face by the puck late in the second period and left the ice clutching a towel to his right cheek. Ference is day-to-day. Anaheim defenseman Keith Carney injured his right foot in the first period and also is day-to-day.
Oilers 7, Flames 4
In Edmonton, Alberta, Ales Hemsky had a goal and three assists, and Jason Chimera and Raffi Torres scored two goals each as Edmonton had six power-play goals in defeating Calgary.
Peter Sarno had the other power-play goal for Edmonton and Marty Reasoner scored short-handed. Mike York added three assists.
Shean Donovan, Andrew Ference, Krzystof Oliwa and Blair Betts scored for Calgary.
Islanders 4, Flyers 2
In Hershey, Pennsylvania, Mariusz Czerkawski scored twice to lead the New York Islanders to a win over Philadelphia.
The Flyers took the lead on a power-play goal by Patrick Sharp with 39 seconds remaining in the first period when Islanders goaltender Garth Snow was slow getting back into the crease.
New York improved 6-0 in the preseason under new coach Steve Stirling. They have yet to play a home game at Nassau Coliseum.
Mark Parrish scored his first goal of the preseason to make it 3-1 when he beat Robert Esche from just outside the crease 3 minutes into the third period.
Eric Chouinard pulled the Flyers within 3-2 with another power-play goal with 4 minutes remaining. But Aaron Asham put the game away when he fired a shot off Esche's shoulder and into the net with 4 minutes to go.
Snow stopped 20 of 22 shots.
Blackhawks 3, Sabres 2
In Rochester, New York, Eric Daze scored at 3:39 of overtime to lift the Chicago over Buffalo.
Tyler Arnason and Pavel Vorobiev also scored for the Blackhawks.
Ales Kotalik and Curtis Brown had Sabres goals.
Michael Leighton started in goal for Chicago and stopped 19 of 21 shots. Craig Anderson replaced Leighton midway through the second period and made 11 saves.
Martin Biron went the distance for Buffalo and made 26 saves.
Senators 4, Lightning 3
In Ottawa, Peter Schaefer scored on a penalty shot with 58.6 seconds remaining to give Ottawa a win over Tampa Bay.
Wade Redden scored a power-play goal 5:13 into the third to tie the game at 3.
Jason Spezza and Daniel Alfredsson had a goal and an assist apiece for the Senators. Todd White, who moved from center to left wing for the game to make room on Ottawa's top line for Spezza, had two assists.
Ben Clymer had two goals for Tampa Bay, both set up by linemates Chris Dingman and Martin Cibak. Fredrik Modin also scored for the Lightning, who fell to 3-2-2.
Bruins 3, Red Wings 2
In Worcester, Massachusetts, Mike Knuble scored two goals and Andrew Raycroft made 34 saves to lift Boston over Detroit.
Boston held off Detroit despite power-play goals by Brett Hull and Brendan Shanahan in the final five minutes and seven minor penalties in the third against the Bruins.
