Adam Mednick of Sweden got off to a good start at the BMW Asian Open yesterday by scoring a hole-in-one during the event's Pro-Am at the Ta Shee Golf and Country Club.
Mednick achieved his ace at Ta Shee's 11th hole, a 208-yard, downhill par-3 fronted by water and well guarded by bunkers.
"I hit a cut 5-iron against the wind and it pitched right into the hole. It was probably fortunate because it would have gone well past the hole if it had not gone in.
"It wasn't the right club to use but today it worked out well," Mednick said.
"I played badly today and that was probably the only decent shot I had. But a hole-in-one doesn't happen very often, so I guess you could say I had a good day," added the 37-year-old.
