Coming in to the game just ahead of the Brother Elephants in the standings, the Sinon Bulls were looking to avoid a series whitewash.
The Bulls started with southpaw Ho Chee-shien, against the Elephants' Japanese pitcher Shin Nakagomi and the Bulls struck first, scoring on two hits and one walk in the third inning.
The Elephants, however, responded with an out-of-the-park solo home run by Peng Cheng-min in the top of the fourth inning to tie the game.
On the top of the fifth, the Elephants' Tsai Feng-an belted another solo home run to stun the crowd and help his team take a 2-1 lead.
The Bulls scored a run on a double with one on, but at the top of the eighth the Elephants were able to start their offense after Lee Chih-chie was walked and eventually moved home on two sacrifice plays and a deep double.
Ho was replaced by Osvaldo Martinez and the Bulls trailed 2-3 in the bottom of the ninth.
As the tension mounted, the Bulls' Yeh Chun-chang hit a line drive to the left and another runner was walked.
The tying run for the Bulls was scored on a hit by Chen Tsung-fu, who collected two hits in total.
With one out, two on and Tzeng Hua-wei at bat, the Bulls' hometown crowd was on its feet hoping for something special.
Tzeng hit a line drive that went through the hole between the shortstop and third base to win the game.
As a result the Bulls held on to first place in the standings and the home crowd went wild.

A seven-year-old horse had to be euthanized on Friday after breaking its back on the final fence of a Grand National steeplechase race that it won despite sustaining the serious injury. Gold Dancer was competing in the Mildmay Novices’ Chase during Ladies Day at Aintree’s Grand National Festival. The horse managed to cross the finish line approximately four lengths ahead of runner-up Regent’s Stroll. “The winner of our second race of the day, Gold Dancer, was pulled up after

The Daredevils yesterday took eight catches in the final as they eked out a victory in the Taiwan Cricket Triangular Tournament against PCCT at Yingfeng Cricket Ground in Taipei’s Songshan District. PCCT were bundled out for 76 in 16.2 overs against a disciplined Daredevils attack. Ninad Malwade was the top scorer in the innings with 21, but he was among those who offered chances to the fielders. Shane Ferreira and Jason Cameron took three wickets each, with
This year’s Taiwan Athletics Open, which offers Taiwanese athletes an opportunity to compete against their international peers, would be held under a new name after its organizers had earlier announced the event’s cancelation. In a statement issued yesterday, the Chinese Taipei Athletics Association said the competition would still take place on June 6-7 at Banciao Stadium, but under the name “New Taipei City Athletics Open 2026.” The event was given a new name to emphasize its local identity and conform with the international practice of naming World Athletics Tour events after cities, the association said. It said it would soon
