"The committee will look into the evidence and reach a final ruling according to the facts," Wu Nai-jen (
Wang has been accused of verbal and physical sexual harassment. The accusers include at least three female interns who had worked in the party's department of youth development when Wang was still the department's director.
Wu added that the party had previously passed a measure to prevent sexual harassment in the work place in 1998 after a similar incident occurred. However, only now would the measure would be put into action with the establishment of the committee, Wu said.

Meanwhile, inspired by Wang's case, a female KMT staffer yesterday also filed a second complaint to the party, arguing that a director, Yang Leung-chun (
Yang told reporters yesterday that he was drunk at the time of the incident and he as already apologized to the woman.
The staffer had accused Yang of touching her on the thighs at a gathering on the night of Jan. 18. The KMT on March 18 notified the woman that Yang had been removed from his current position.

As of 1pm, the storm was about 1,070km southeast of Oluanpi (鵝鑾鼻), Taiwan’s southernmost point, and was moving west-northwest at 28 to 32kph, according to CWA data. The Central Weather Administration (CWA) yesterday issued a sea alert for Typhoon Fung-wong (鳳凰) as it threatened vessels operating in waters off the Pratas Islands (Dongsha Islands, 東沙群島), the Bashi Channel and south of the Taiwan Strait.
