Tainan Mayor George Chang (張燦鍙), who prosecutors are seeking to jail for 12 years, reiterated that he was innocent after the DPP's Central Standing Committee met in Kaohsiung yesterday.
"If I were involved in the corruption or if I even took one penny from the government, I will commit hara-kiri myself," Chang said, adding that he would run for the mayorship in next year's election.

The Central Weather Administration (CWA) yesterday said it expected to issue a sea warning for Typhoon Fung-Wong tomorrow, which it said would possibly make landfall near central Taiwan.
