The MRT's main computer shut down again yesterday morning sparking chaos at stations along the Tamsui, Hsintien and Chungho lines, causing over 100,000 commuters to be late for work.
The computer tripped off-line at 7:43am when hundreds of thousands of commuters were in transit. The control center immediately ordered every station to take over the service, but a delay of more than 10 minutes for each train leaving stations and subsequent overcrowding angered many passengers.
The computer system resumed operations again at 8:55am.
