Huáhua: Lǎoshí shuō, wǒ yǒuyìdiǎn fánnǎo. Wǒ juéde xīnyì bǐjiào zhòngyào, bú yídìng yào sòng lǐwù.
Qīngqing: Kěshì rúguǒ shénme dōu méi sòng, duìfāng huì bú huì juéde nǐ bú gòu yòngxīn?
Huáhua: Yě yǒu kěnéng. Búguò yǒu shíhou sòng lǐwù fǎn’ér huì biànchéng yì zhǒng yālì.
Qīngqing: Wǒ dǒng. Yǒuxiē rén huì bǐjiào jiàqián, hái huì ná lái gēn biérén bǐjiào.
Qīngqing: Nà nǐ dǎsuàn zěnme guò qíngrénjié?
Huáhua: Yìqǐ chīfàn, liáotiān jiù hǎo. Rúguǒ duìfāng kāixīn, wǒ yě bǐjiào qīngsōng.
Qīngqing: Tīng qǐlái búcuò. Qíshí néng bu néng hǎohǎo xiāngchǔ, bǐ lǐwù zhòngyào duō le.
Huáhua: Méi cuò, qíngrénjié shì tíxǐng wǒmen guānxīn duìfāng, bú shì kǎoshì.

Qingqing: Valentine’s Day is coming this weekend. Are you planning to give a gift?
Huahua: Honestly, I’m a bit worried. I think sincerity is more important, you don’t necessarily have to give a gift.
Qingqing: But if you don’t give anything, will your partner think you didn’t put in enough effort?
Huahua: That’s possible. But sometimes giving gifts becomes a source of pressure.
Qingqing: I get it. Some people compare prices and even compare themselves to others.
Huahua: Exactly. That just makes the holiday lose its original meaning.
Qingqing: So how are you planning to spend Valentine’s Day?
Huahua: Just eating together and chatting is enough. If the other person is happy, I’ll feel more relaxed too.
Qingqing: Sounds good. Being able to get along well is much more important than gifts.
Huahua: Right. Valentine’s Day is meant to remind us to care about each other. It’s not a test.

Every February, the US observes Black History Month, a time dedicated to recognizing the contributions, experiences, and achievements of African Americans. The tradition began in 1926, when historian Carter G. Woodson proposed a national week to promote the teaching of Black history in schools. He deliberately chose the second week of February to honor the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass, two figures held in high esteem by the Black community for their roles in ending slavery. In 1976, the initiative expanded into a month-long observance, with then US president Gerald Ford urging Americans to acknowledge the accomplishments of
