The water hidden underground
看不見的地下水
The Earth is made up of 71% water, with only 29% being land. Out of all the water, 97% is in the oceans, 2% is in the form of icebergs and glaciers, and only 1% is freshwater available for human use. Surprisingly, 95% of all freshwater is underground.
The primary source of underground water is from the sky, which is rainwater. When rainwater falls on the ground, it forms rivers, lakes, and ponds that flow into the oceans, and eventually evaporate to become rainwater again. However, if it seeps into the ground, it becomes groundwater.
