Many Taiwanese pass through Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, which serves as both the nation’s facade and a gateway to the rest of the world. However, a netizen has posted an analysis of the airport on PTT — Taiwan’s largest online bulletin board — which lists a large number of problems with the airport’s design.
The netizen, who describes himself as a tour group guide, in a post on PTT on Thursday last week wrote that, in overall comparison with several dozen of the world’s airports, Taoyuan Airport feels “like a joke.” Problems cited by the poster include the airport’s spatial design, last-minute changes of boarding gate number and problems with circulation and flow within the building.
According to the poster, Taoyuan Airport’s H-shaped design “leaves absolutely no room for expansion” so that, for example, the duty-free shopping area is cut into two and forced into opposite wings of the building. The poster says he once went there to buy a tube of lipstick for his wife, but, because the shop in B wing was out of stock, he had to wait for the shop assistant to retrieve stock from the store’s other outlet on the opposite side of the terminal. After about a 15-minute wait, the shop assistant finally reappeared, running and out of breath. This causes both the buyer and the seller to lose out, says the poster.

As for circulation and flow, some areas of the terminal are hampered by moving walkways that are too narrow. Furthermore, says the poster, because the design only allowed for moving walkways in one direction, this means that travellers who have already gone to the boarding gate but then want to return to the duty-free area, smoking area or restaurants have a long distance to walk.
The post has attracted considerable discussion online. One netizen pointed out that when Taoyuan Aiport was built 40 years ago it was one of the world’s most advanced buildings and at the time even Singapore’s Changi Airport sent people over to study the design.

Her face was red — not from blushing, but from the “mala” spice and the heat of the room. Her blond hair clumped to her face like strands of fine spaghetti. Her carefully applied makeup now streaked. “This isn’t what I expected,” she said softly, forcing a smile. All around them, Kevin’s friends were laughing, shouting, and tossing ingredients into the broth. The air smelled of chili oil and garlic.
Picture this: contestants are walking gracefully across a stage, competing for the highly desired title of “most beautiful.” However, these participants aren’t fashion models—they’re camels. Welcome to the extraordinary world of the Pushkar Fair, where beauty contests take on an entirely different meaning. The Pushkar Fair is held annually in the small desert town of Pushkar, India, usually in November. It began as a livestock trading event where farmers and herders gathered to buy and sell camels, horses and cattle. Over time, it has grown into a major cultural carnival that attracts thousands of tourists from around the world.

A: The Dodgers signed a record-breaking 10-year, US$700 million contract with Ohtani in 2023. As former ESPN reporter Joon Lee analyzed, the team quickly made back all the investment in the player’s first season. B: Wow, how is that possible? A: Firstly, tourism from Japan to Los Angeles has surged by 90 percent since Ohtani signed the deal, with the

The term “ita” comes from the Japanese word itai, which means “painful” and reflects the overwhelming visual intensity of these bags. An ita bag is essentially a handbag, backpack, or tote meticulously decorated with an extensive collection of merchandise dedicated to a specific character or idol. These bags usually feature a clear plastic window to display carefully arranged pins, badges, keychains, or fan art. Both the interior and exterior may be covered in fandom memorabilia, creating an aesthetic so intense that it’s almost “painful”
