The students at Stella Matutina Girls’ High School in Taichung are pretty amazing. The school’s art department has used more than 30,000 plastic bottle caps to compose a copy of Vincent Van Gogh’s famous painting Starry Night. In the process, they experienced the beauty of combining environmental protection with art. After going through this novel teaching course, the students said it was “really cool.”
Art teacher Wu Ching-chuan says he came up with the idea of making an artwork using readily available bottle caps, the aim being to teach his students that if you can just think a little creatively, even simple things can be used as art materials. The project is an extension of the school’s long-standing promotion of environmental education. To get the bottle tops needed for creating the artwork, he insisted that the students could not buy drinks, instead asking them to collect bottle tops that were going to be recycled.
Although this was an experiential course for first-year high school students, it attracted teachers and students from the whole school to help collect the bottle caps. It was also necessary to provide for the painting’s colors, so teachers and students exerted themselves to help collect bottle tops in a wide range of hues. There were also alumni and parents who thought this course was really interesting and joined in the effort. Even some elderly people who collect resources for recycling brought in bottle caps of their own accord.

As a result, between July and November, members of the public joined forces to collect more 30,000 bottle caps in an array of colors. Wu says there were plenty of blue and white ones but black, red and brown ones were harder to collect. After considering how many caps of various colors had been collected, he eventually chose Van Gough’s famous painting Starry Night as the model for the group’s artwork.

ˇ None of the students are/is right. χ All the students are not right. 註︰“All... not...” All that glitters is not gold.(並非金光閃閃就是金子。) None of them attended the meeting. None of the boys were/was interested in this game. All the answers are wrong. All students were absent. 2. ˇ No one could climb up. χ Everyone could not climb up. Not everyone can do this.(這不是人人都能做的。) No one can help him. No country has the right to interfere in the internal
