In Keelung City’s Nanrong Road, there are three old houses. They have been uninhabited for at least a decade. They are surrounded by weeds and the Taiwan stink snakes and other snake species often appear. With the recent dengue fever epidemic, nearby residents are concerned. The owner, Hua Nan Bank has promised to demolish the buildings and clean up the environment as soon as possible.
Chen Chuan-ling, borough warden in Chengren Borough in the city’s Renai District says that the three houses have been uninhabited for a long time, and that no one has been cleaning the surroundings, so not only have people indiscriminately thrown their rubbish there, it has also become overgrown with weeds, and snakes and rats are often seen, troubling nearby residents.
Recently there has been a dengue fever epidemic in the south. The empty houses have a lot of containers filled with water, breeding mosquitoes. To avoid being bitten, residents avoid opening their windows.

He rode slowly through the forest, closed his eyes, and felt the warm sunlight on his face. He opened his eyes to a full moon rising. Time to make offerings and pray for peace, good weather, a bountiful harvest. And a child with his beloved wife. He smiled. As he approached, the house was quiet. Too quiet. You can’t help but notice the woman’s blonde hair, blue eyes, and bizarre outfit. She’s in a white dress that reaches below the knee and a Prussian blue jacket highlighted by a brooch on a ribbon at the collar.
