A Far East University student who wanted to help her father’s roller door business catch up with the trends of the smart energy savings era cooperated with the teachers at her school department to write an app for a smart energy-saving roller door monitoring system. In doing so, she has not only improved the development of the family’s business but has also been given a NT$2.65 million subsidy by the Tainan City Government’s local small business innovation research (SBIR) program.
The family of Huang Yu-chuan, a fourth-year student at the Department of Digital Media Design and Management, runs a traditional manufacturing business, but with today’s mobile phones and 4G networks, industry must also keep up with the times. She thought up a way for consumers to to use their mobile phones to monitor and control all the energy-saving roller doors and windows in their homes.
Huang said that, in the car on the way home, it would be possible to use the application to adjust the roller doors on ventilation windows a few minutes before arriving. “That way,” Huang said, “people won’t have to smell the stuffy air in the house first thing when they get home.” At the same time, starting the air conditioner so that the indoor temperature can be adjusted to the outdoor temperature would also help save energy, she said.

Huang Lung-tai said that the concept of using mobile phones for intelligent control was proposed a decade ago, and that he had been secretly trying to do it. Unfortunately, he did not have enough relevant knowledge, but luckily his daughter was there to take over, with the help of her teachers.

Earthquakes are among the most terrifying natural disasters, generating massive tremors and destructive forces as Earth’s crust shudders. These tremors not only lead to the collapse of buildings but can also trigger secondary disasters, such as tsunamis and fires. However, we can mitigate the impact on lives and property by mastering earthquake response techniques. The DCH three-step strategy, recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is crucial during an earthquake. “D” stands for “drop.” You should immediately drop to the ground, using your hands and knees to support yourself. This position prevents you from falling and

It’s widely recognized that there are far more right-handed people than left-handed people in the world. Being right-handed simply means preferring to use one’s right hand for tasks that involve only one hand, such as writing and eating. But have you ever wondered about the possible reasons behind the global dominance of the right hand over the left? As with many complex biological questions, multiple factors appear to be at play. First, one reason seems to be genetics. __1__ Therefore, the global dominance of right-handedness is something that has been passed down through many generations of humans. Next,
