A specially approved tour group of Chinese tourists visiting Taiwan has led to an unbelievable scene of a child urinating in the Din Tai Fung Taipei 101 restaurant. A Chinese mother allowed her child, desperate for the toilet, to urinate into a plastic bottle in front of members of the public dining in the restaurant. When the urine sprayed onto some of the dishes, the mother also asked for them to be replaced, on the house. According to Din Tai Fung, all of the tableware and bamboo steamers were thrown away, and the table and chairs disinfected.
Regarding this kind of thing happening even with a specially approved tour group, the Tourism Bureau said that it would now require tourism agencies to impress upon tourists coming to Taiwan the importance of good manners, and that foreign tourists urinating or defecating wherever they felt like it could be fined between NT$1,200 and NT$6,000.
The Din Tai Fung PR department pointed out that this is not the first time Chinese tourists have caused disruption in the restaurant. There was previously a case in which Chinese tourists demanded their entire order to be brought to the table the instant they were seated, and that they had to be spoken to on many occasions in order to maintain the order of service, from light to heavy, with the entree first, followed by dessert, and the quality of the dining experience. This was the first time that somebody had urinated in public when they were eating, however. Not only is it unseemly, it said, but it is also sure to affect the dining experience of other customers.
According to the Tourism Bureau, there have been many instances of Chinese tourists coming to Taiwan and carving their names in scenic areas or of relieving themselves wherever they want, and this behavior damages the environment and affects the rights of others.

鼎泰豐公關指出，中客用餐失序已不是第一次，過去也曾發生中國旅客要求人一上桌，餐點就要全部上齊，餐廳為維持由淡到濃、先主食再甜點的用餐品質，必須多次溝通；在用餐時間公然尿尿倒是第一次，不只觀感不佳，確實也影響其他客人的用餐品質。
觀光局指出，中客團客來台旅遊，曾多次發生在風景區刻字留名、隨地便溺等行為，破壞環境也影響其他民眾權益。
