The McDonald's Big Mac meal has been crowned a global food.
South African scientists found that the Big Mac meal has up to 20 different kinds of plants. The plants are from all over the world.
The scientists are doing a study into the globalized human diet. They looked at the ingredients in a Big Mac burger, fries and a coffee. They said the meal is an example of globalization.

Humans first started using potatoes in America, mustard in India, onion and wheat in the Middle East and coffee in Ethiopia. All these ingredients, and more, go into a Big Mac meal.
The scientists said most people's diets are very varied. They said modern diets are much more varied than traditional diets.
The scientists noted that some people are not affected a lot by globalization. These people might only have about 50 to 100 different kinds of plants in their entire diet. (STAFF WRITER, WITH AFP)

As early as the Shang and Zhou dynasties, the governments implemented official systems to deliver orders and military information across long distances. Later, this system, known as yizhan, reached its peak during the Tang period and remained crucial to Chinese society for centuries. The main function of a yizhan was to deploy documents and personnel quickly across vast regions. Messengers would stop at these stations to change horses or rest. Sometimes,

Inside, it was winter. The words rebellion and death penalty hung in the air like a storm cloud about to break. But this moment had not begun here. It began three months earlier, on a warm December evening. The traffic circle
