One day Deb Davis heard a baby bear outside her window. She thought its mother was nearby, so she lef tit alone.
A week later the cub showed up at a neighbor's home. It needed help.
"She fit in my hands. I held her in my lap, and I rubbed her paws," Davis said. "I said `Twister, hang in there."'

Twister was brought to the Idaho Black Bear Rehabilitation Center. They fed her apples and dog food.
Twister grew to about 45kg within 12 months of living at the center. She was recently released in a forest in Idaho.
The bear rescue center in Idaho has saved nearly 150 orphaned black bears since 1989.
There are about 20,000 black bears in Idaho. Every year many cubs are orphaned.
Many scientists feel orphaned bears should be cared for and then released into forests. They think that's better than sending the bears to zoos or circuses.

The choice of a successor to the Dalai Lama, the spiritual head of Tibetan Buddhists, is a matter of major interest not only for millions of followers of his religion, but also for China, India and the United States, for strategic reasons. The Nobel peace laureate, who turned 90 on Sunday, is regarded as one of the world’s most influential figures, with a following extending well beyond Buddhism. HOW WAS HE CHOSEN? Tibetan tradition holds that the soul of a senior Buddhist monk is reincarnated after his death. The 14th Dalai Lama was born as Lhamo Dhondup on July 6, 1935, to a farming

But where did this peculiar expression come from, and is there any truth to it? For centuries, tales have circulated about crocodiles weeping while devouring their prey. One of the earliest and most influential accounts appears in The Travels of Sir John Mandeville, a widely read book from the 14th century. In the book, it is claimed that crocodiles “slay men and they eat them weeping.” This
