Scorpion on a plane
"Attention, passengers of Flight 732. Your flight is now boarding," the airport intercom announced.
"Oh boy!" said Kathleen. "This trip to Japan will be a blast!"
"I've never been on a plane before," Mark mumbled as he dragged his suitcase behind him. "Is it scary?"
"It's not scary at all," said Kathleen. "We sit in comfortable chairs, they will bring you food, and the whole trip will be over before you know it."
"Well, that sounds like good news," Mark declared. "Will they have peanuts?"
"You bet!" Kathleen was beaming with excitement.
After placing their carry-ons in the overhead bin and finding their seats, Mark and Kathleen sat down.
"These chairs really are comfortable," Mark said with some surprise. After a few minutes, a flight attendant came by handing out hot towels, peanuts and soda. Mark started to get excited.
"What will we do when we first get to Japan?" he said with a mouthful of peanuts.
"Well," Kathleen replied, "we can see Mount Fuji, a Shinto temple, check into our hotel ..." As the plane took off, Mark felt a tickle on his right foot. He looked down to see a scorpion crawling up his leg ....

Foxes are known for being cunning and resourceful, but a study suggests another surprising talent. Research from the Czech Republic indicates these creatures may use the Earth’s magnetic field when hunting. The study, led by Jaroslav ?erveny, tracked wild red foxes for over two years, recording nearly 600 hunting leaps by 84 foxes. Researchers found the animals predominantly jumped in a northeasterly direction, regardless of the time of day, season, or weather conditions. This preferred leaping direction resulted in a much higher kill rate, with foxes finding success on 73 percent of their northeasterly pounces on their prey. The results prompted
