Have you ever thought that a dog might be a good way to get around? You might even have tried to ride your dog like it was a horse. These kids have discovered a much better way to have fun with their dogs. Instead of carrying the children on their backs, the dogs are pulling them on a sled. Do they look like they're having fun?
These kids are being pulled by their dogs just for fun. But in some very cold parts of the world, people use dogs to pull sleds as a way to get around. They even have dogs pull sleds in races!
The dogs in these races are very strong. In the races, there are many dogs pulling one sled, not just two. The races last for many days. The dogs can pull a sled over the snow all day long. It's a lot of work, but sled dogs love doing it! (Taipei Times)

India has launched one of the world’s largest social policy experiments by transferring cash directly to housewives in recognition of their unpaid domestic labor. Across 12 states, an estimated 118 million adult women regularly receive 1,000 to 2,500 rupees (NT$348 to NT$871), equal to about 5% to 12% of household income. Surveys show Indian women devote nearly five hours per day to household tasks — over 7.6 times men’s contribution. This imbalance is a major factor in India’s low female labor force participation. Though modest in amount, the transfers symbolically acknowledge the hidden labor supporting families and society.
