Shihlin prosecutors and the police yesterday arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting of KMT Taipei City Councilor Chen Chin-chi (
Prosecutors say they have located a second suspect and will arrest him soon.

The prosecutors' detention request was approved by the court around 8:30am yesterday.

"We are still looking for the gunman as well as the gun used in the crime. Based on Cheng's testimony, we have identified the man and will find him soon," Wang said.
Police officers and prosecutors did not make any public comment about the arrest.
However, a senior police officer from the Shihlin Precinct, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Taipei Times how the police nailed Cheng.
"He left his fingerprints on the helmet that was abandoned with the stolen scooter at a public parking space," the source said.
"After we reviewed his mobile phone call records, we discovered that he had made a few phone calls from the crime scene, so we decided to summon him when we had sufficient evidence," the source said
On Nov. 18, police said that they had collected two fingerprints, one palm print and two footprints from the scooter, which was abandoned by the two suspects at a public parking space for motorbikes about 700m away from the crime scene.
"Cheng also said that the gunman was an acquaintance of his and a professional killer who was trained in Cambodia," the source said. "We have located a suspect, who is also 34 years old, surnamed Tung (董) who fits the description."

Chen was shot to death while he was attending a wedding lunch for his friend's daughter at a Taipei restaurant on Nov. 16.
When he walked into the restaurant, a gunman -- who wore a motorcycle helmet to cover his face -- fired at Chen and fled with another suspect on a stolen scooter.
