Chunghwa Precision Test Technology Co (CHPT, 中華精測), a chip testing and wafer probing services provider, yesterday forecast double-digit percentage revenue growth for next year, aided by market demand for artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) applications.
Rising uptake of 5G applications and high-speed Wi-Fi 6 devices, as well data centers, would also contribute to strong revenue growth next year, company president Scott Huang (黃水可) said at the Semicon Taiwan trade show at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center’s Hall 1.
Orders postponed to the first half of next year by a Taiwanese chip designer would further help propel revenue expansion, Huang added.

As customers gradually reduce inventories, CHPT is confident there would be a pickup in demand for its testing services, he said.
The company early this month cut its revenue growth forecast for the year to 8 to 9 percent from last year due to a slump in the smartphone market, from a double-digit percentage expansion it estimated at the beginning of the year.
COVID-19 lockdowns have dealt a blow to demand for consumer electronics, causing a spike in inventory and order delays, it said.
In July, the company detected a broad downward revision of demand for smartphones and other consumer electronics, it said.
“This winter will be chillier than before because of inventory corrections in the consumer electronics and information and communications technology segments,” Huang said. “The fourth quarter would be a challenging period.”
CHPT has high exposure to the mobile phone segment, as more than 36 percent of its revenue came from application processors last quarter, company data showed.
The company has seen a nascent revival in demand for testing services for chips used in mobile phones, HPC devices and SSD controllers, it said.
In the first eight months of the year, revenue expanded 8.5 percent to NT$2.79 billion (US$89.75 million), from NT$2.57 billion a year earlier, company data showed.

Nvidia Corp CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) on Thursday met with US President Donald Trump at the White House, days before a planned trip to China by the head of the world’s most valuable chipmaker, people familiar with the matter said. Details of what the two men discussed were not immediately available, and the people familiar with the meeting declined to elaborate on the agenda. Spokespeople for the White House had no immediate comment. Nvidia declined to comment.
