Fubon Financial Holding Co (富邦金控) yesterday reported NT$7.03 billion (US$234.4 million) in net income for last month, an increase of more than nine times the income levels seen one month earlier on the back of dividend income, according to a filing to the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
Fubon Life Insurance Co (富邦人壽) posted NT$4.65 billion in net income last month, up from NT$250 million in June and accounted for 66.14 percent of Fubon Financial’s earnings for last month, the filing said.
In the first seven months of the year, Fubon Financial’s accumulated earnings totaled NT$17.99 billion, or earnings of NT$1.99 per share.
The results were stronger than those of state-run Mega Financial Holding Co (兆豐金控), which on Tuesday said it earned NT$1.79 billion in net profits last month, with a cumulative income of NT$14.53 billion in the first seven months, or NT$1.29 per share.
Mega International Commercial Bank (兆豐國際商銀), the group’s flagship subsidiary and main source of income, generated NT$1.63 billion in net profit, accounting for 91.18 percent, the filing showed.
Two other state-run conglomerates, First Financial Holding Co (第一金控) and Taiwan Cooperative Financial Holding Co (合作金控), also released their results yesterday, with First Financial posting earnings of NT$882 million while Taiwan Cooperative Financial posted profits for last month of NT$729 million.
During the first seven months, First Financial’s accumulated net profits reached NT$7.53 billion, or NT$0.98 per share, while Taiwan Cooperative Financial reported NT$5.14 billion in net profits, or NT$0.8 per share, their financial data showed.
Meanwhile, SinoPac Financial Holding Co (永豐金控) posted NT$829 million in net profit last month, underpinned by the banking unit Bank SinoPac (永豐銀行) with net income of NT$728 million, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
That lifted the group’s cumulative income to NT$5.73 billion for the first seven months, or earnings of NT$0.78 per share, the statement said.
Taishin Financial Holding Co (台新金控) posted NT$1.01 billion in net income last month, down 3.8 percent from one month earlier, raising total earnings to NT$6.63 billion for the first seven months, or earnings of NT$0.92 per share, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
E. Sun Financial Holding Co (玉山金控) reported NT$611.4 million in net profit last month, lifting cumulative income to NT$4.49 billion as of July, or earnings of NT$0.98 per share, the company said in a statement.
