Advanced Micro Devices Inc, Intel Corp's biggest rival in making PC processors, cut its sales forecast for the second time in two weeks. The chipmaker expects second-quarter revenue to be about US$600 million, rather than the US$620 million to US$700 million predicted on June 18, the company said in a statement on Business Wire. In April, Chairman Jerry Sanders forecast sales of US$820 million to US$900 million. "It's a bad signal for PC sales," said Ingo Queiser, an analyst at Bank Julius Baer. The company also sold some products at discounts of as much as 50 percent, he added. Bigger rival Intel and Advanced Micro lowered sales forecasts last month, citing a slowdown in demand, especially in Europe.
