Internet portal giant Yahoo and Sabre Holdings, the corporate owners of the popular Travelocity online travel site, said Tuesday they are forging a long-term strategic alliance. The deal involves, among other things, for Travelocity to be the exclusive travel service on the Yahoo site, and for a sharing of sales revenue from air fares, car rentals, hotel bookings and other service offered by Travelocity through Yahoo. Yahoo and Sabre will also team on marketing campaigns for the service. The deal, said the two companies, will allow the pair a great foothold in the online travel market, expected to reach US$34 billion dollars by next year.
