A factory worker makes parts at a joint venture between Chinese and Japanese electronics firms manufacturing digitally controlled machinery for the automotive, aviation, chemical and manufacturing industries in Yinchuan in China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous region yesterday. Foreign investors are being lured with offers of preferential tax and land use treatment in a bid to encourage more foreign investment into China's impoverished western regions.
