Easy to Park, Too
A research worker looks at a moving one-fifth sized prototype of multipurpose vehicle ''Hallucigenia-01'' at the Chiba Institute of Technology on the outskirts of Tokyo yesterday. Using technology developed for humanoid robots, the 8-wheeled research model, equipped with 32 motors for the wheels, can move in all directions and even tackle grades while keeping its body flat. The research prototype was jointly developed by Leading Edge Design, Future Robotics Technology Center and a Nissan subsidiary and are designed for use in rescue and logistical operations.
