Chinese may get piece of Yukos

Some 10 million tonnes of crude are due to be delivered from Russia to China next year and 30 million more in 2006.

However, Russian oil exports are hampered by the lack of a pipeline despite Beijing's repeated calls for one to be constructed.

Russia favors a project that would link Taishet in Siberia and the Pacific port of Nakhodka on the Japanese sea, making it possible to ship oil throughout East Asia.
