Yahoo will try to win more of the advertising business of major consumer-products companies, executives said.

Yahoo's ad revenue from dot-com companies fell to 26 percent of its total ad revenue from 30 percent in the first quarter, Chief Financial Officer Susan Decker said on the conference call.

Yahoo said it signed new ad contracts with Compaq Computer Corp and retailers Crate & Barrel and Spiegel Inc.

Yahoo also named new executives for some of its international units, which have had a string of resignations this year, as well as a new sales executive in the US.

Mark Opzoomer was named regional vice president and managing director of Yahoo Europe, replacing Fabiola Arredondo, who resigned in February. Opzoomer was previously chairman of wireless communications company Xtempus Ltd.

Allan Kwan, the former chairman and CEO of Asia.com, was named managing director of North Asian operations. SI Lee, a former regional CEO of Asia OnLine, was appointed CEO of Yahoo Korea.

John Glascott, formerly an executive with IVillage Inc, was named head of US East Coast sales.

The company said it expects third-quarter per-share profit excluding certain costs to be break-even. For 2001, it expects profit excluding items of US$0.02 to US$0.06 a share. Third-quarter sales should be US$160 million to US$180 million, and full-year revenue should be US$700 million to US$775 million, Yahoo said.
