Pressure builds for Walt Disney to find a partner

MEDIA Following the merger between AOL Time Warner and Comcast's bid for AT&T's cable unit, the second-largest media company may also need to start seeking an acquisition

"Microsoft is a software company," he said. "That doesn't make sense with a media company."

Some analysts said a Comcast-AT&T union wouldn't change Disney's situation.

"I don't think [Comcast-AT&T] changes the competitive landscape for Disney," said First Union Securities analyst Scott Davis, who rates Disney a "strong buy." Disney "certainly doesn't have to do a cable [system] play."
