Staff members check a 2.888km plastic toy train track during an event organized by toy manufacturer Mattel to set a Guinness World Record in Shanghai on Saturday. The record for the World’s Longest Plastic Toy Train Track — 20 percent longer than the previous record set in Odaiba, Japan — was set using train sets from the Thomas & Friends brand, which belongs to Mattel, the world’s largest toy manufacturer. The track was composed of 13,769 individual track sections in seven layers.Nov 26, 2012
