NEW ERA
A craftswoman on Friday in Tonala, Mexico, paints the image of the late Mexican singer Chavela Vargas on one of 200 fiberglass sculptures with the face of the Mayan emperor Pakal which will be invading Mexican public plazas and major airports around the world to show a new image of Mexico through art. The sculptures of about 2m high will be displayed from Dec. 21, which according to the Mayan calendar begins a new era, said Karla Lara, one of the organizers of the Mayan art project called Mayan Parade.Nov 11, 2012
