Spring bonfire
A papier-mache figure is burned along with thousands of other sculptures to celebrate the last day of the Fallas festival at the Town Hall square in Valencia, Spain, on Wednesday. Valencia is renowned for its annual Fallas festival in honor of St. Joseph. The festival's bonfires, fireworks, music and flowers symbolize the purification and renewal heralded by the coming of spring.
