HOLY PROCESSION
Penitents gather during the procession of the La Paz brotherhood during the first day of the Holy Week in Seville, Spain, on Sunday. Pope Benedict XVI made a strong appeal for an end to the violence in Iraq. ''Stop the massacres, the violence, the hatred in Iraq,'' the pontiff said during his weekly Angelus blessing to the crowds gathered in Saint Peter's Square as Catholics celebrated Palm Sunday and the start of the week leading to Easter Sunday.
