Arboreal devotion

A sculptor from a Catholic church in Taitung County yesterday carves a statue of the Virgin Mary into a camphor tree in front of the church. Church members discovered that one of the tree's growth rings resembled an image of Mary when they chopped off a branch and decided to carve it into a statue.Apr 18, 2007
