Not coming home
Laurie Sirko, right, comforts her mother, Summer Lipford of Statesville, North Carolina, next to a pair of military boots bearing the name of her son, US Army PFC Steven Sirko, during the ``Eyes Wide Open: The Human cost of War'' exhibition on the National Mall on Friday in Washington. ``If I take them with me then he'll come back,'' Lipford said about the boots. The exhibition, which runs until today, includes a pair of boots for every one of the 2,433 US military deaths in Iraq.
