Strongarm tactics
A policeman throws a rock in Quito, Ecuador, during the fourth day of student protests on Thursday. The protests were over a proposed bus fare hike and the possibility of a free trade agreement with the US. Ecuador's minister of government, Alfredo Castillo, admitted that the police had committed ``excesses'' in suppressing the student demonstrations.
