Geisha by numbers

Japanese geisha girls, dressed in formal kimonos and wearing New Year's accessories on coiffured hair, chant their motto, ``Always be beautiful, nice and kind,'' in unison as they start their first day of work in Kyoto, Japan's ancient capital, yesterday. About 100 geishas attended the beginning-of-work ceremony following the holidays.Jan 08, 2006
