Colorful march
A Kashmiri bride (wearing red shawl) is accompanied by her relatives and friends as they walk through a rice field on her way to the groom's home in Batkoot village, about 80km south of Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian-held Kashmir, Sunday. A Kashmiri wedding is an extravagant affair that lasts for over two days starting from ``Manzi Raat'' to the ''Yanivoal'' or wedding day, during which hundreds of guests are served a traditional feast called ``Wazwan.'' As the harvest is almost over, the marriage season begins in Kashmir's villages marked with elaborate feasts for guests and songs and dance in which girls in colorful attire participate.Oct 07, 2004
