Over the rainbow
Flag carriers pull a 2km-long rainbow flag down Duval Street headed towards the Atlantic Ocean in Key West, Florida, on Sunday. The mammoth banner was created by Gilbert Baker and commemorated the 25th anniversary of the icon representing homosexual pride. Baker, a San Francisco resident, conceived of the design in 1978. The flag required 16,100m of fabric, weighs more than 2,200kg and was a highlight event of the PrideFest Key West celebration.
