Militants who later visited Khan said Aminullah blew himself up in a car bomb attack on NATO forces in Kandahar, southern Afghanistan, in late July.
Khan, a 62-year-old retired junior officer in the paramilitary police, says he has earned the respect of his fellow villagers and would be proud if his other three sons volunteered for jihad.
