Man serves detention at Ritz

A man sentenced to home detention for secretly videotaping Michael Jackson aboard a jet four years ago is serving his sentence at a luxury hotel. Jeffrey Borer is paying for his six-month stay at the Ritz-Carlton hotel because his house has a mold problem and his wife is allergic. The federal prosecutor in the case called the hotel stay outrageous. "When someone is sentenced to electronic monitoring, normally the presumption is he's not going to be holed up in a four-star hotel," Daniel Shallman said. Borer owns a jet company. He admitted in court last year he had installed digital cameras in a jet that flew Jackson from Las Vegas to Santa Barbara.
