"I didn't find a situation in which I have expectations and hope," South Korea's Chun said on Sunday after meeting Kim. "Unofficial meetings in this place help to understand each other's positions, but this is not a conference where a breakthrough can be found."
China's Wu Dawei hosted Kim for talks yesterday morning at the Chinese embassy in Tokyo, and later met Japanese and Russian delegates, said Li Wen-ling, a spokesman for the Chinese embassy in Tokyo.
Wu is to meet with Hill this morning.
During Wu's meeting with Kenichiro Sasae, Japan's top delegate to the nuclear talks, the two discussed ways to resume the stalled dialogue, a Foreign Ministry official said on condition of anonymity, citing ministry protocol.
Sasae asked Wu to play a leading roll in urging North Korea to return to the talks, NHK said.
