Belfast parade ends in riot

MOB FURY An Orange Order march by Protestants went through a hard-line Catholic area, and led to Protestants clashing with riot police and several injuries

Over the past decade, Catholic hard-liners led by Sinn Fein, the Irish Republican Army-linked party, have violently opposed Orange parades that pass near Catholic areas. Britain formed a Parades Commission in 1997 that has imposed restrictions on most of the disputed parades.
