One father standing outside the hospital nursery threatened to kill himself and his wife if they were not given the baby, while another mother said she would kill the doctors if they didn't give her the boy.
Hospital officials had to hide the baby in an operating room at night for the first two weeks, worried the parents claiming the child would abduct him.
"It is completely understandable. Losing a child is just unacceptable to most people so if these couples lost a baby of the same age, all babies look like theirs," Muhunthan said.
