Polls show Bush slightly ahead of Kerry

"I think now whoever wins is going to be somewhere between 270 and 290."

If Florida stays with Bush and Kerry keeps Pennsylvania, the race could boil down to Ohio, Michigan, Wisconisn and Minnesota. Kerry would need to win all of them to capture the White House.

The math also did not exclude the possibility of a 269-269 tie in the Electoral College, which would force the House of Representatives to choose a president for the first time in 180 years.
