Thousands of Palestinian refugees were settled in Baladiyaat area by Saddam Hussein in the 1970s in solidarity with the displaced people. During the invasion of Iraq last year, Palestinians were among the staunchest supporters of Saddam.
"No one but the Americans and the Jews could be behind this attack. I don't think the resistance has anything to do with this, they would not hit a residential area," said Bilal Rashid, 28.
