The Foreign Minister warned yesterday that citizens thinking of applying for nationality in Belize under the Belize Economic Citizenship Program should be aware that Belize discontinued the program on Jan. 14. The press release also noted that on July 19, Belize's Prime Minister Said Musa directed Alan Usher, chief executive officer in the Ministry of Home Affairs, to investigate allegations of fraud and corruption at the Immigration and Nationality Department in respect to the processing and issuance of immigration and nationality documents. Anyone with questions about the discontinuation of the program can contact the Belize embassy in Taipei.
