Politics: KMT launches Web-paper

STAFF WRITER, WITH AGENCIES

The KMT launched an on-line newspaper yesterday as part of its effort to attract young voters. The KMT's decision to join the ranks of cyber-publishers follows the launch of the DPP's on-line paper last year and the PFP's similar move a few months ago. "Although the paper has come a bit late, we will keep it up in a more mature and steady pace," KMT Chairman Lien Chan (連戰) said in remarks at the launching ceremony of the paper. According to Lien, the newspaper is part of efforts to build up a new channel to interact with people. Another mission of the newspaper is to drum up support for the party's candidates in the year-end elections for Taipei mayor and Taipei City Council and there will be a special column devoted to news from Taipei Mayor Ma Ying-jeou (馬英九)'s campaign.
