APEC: Women get business advice

Taiwan yesterday opened a two-day APEC symposium on "Best Practices for Enhancing Women's Entrepreneurship and Start-up Companies" in Taipei, drawing over 140 participants from 16 APEC countries. Officials, scholars and private sector leaders from 16 APEC member countries in the region gathered yesterday in downtown Taipei to share experiences in one of the key themes for the 2002 APEC meetings, a Ministry of Foreign Affairs press release said. Taiwan is to report summaries of the symposium to the APEC women's ministerial meeting slated to take place in Mexico on Sept. 28 and Sept. 29, the press briefing added.
