Medicine: Fund-raiser for cancer

The Taipei Veterans General Hospital and the Foundation of Cancer Research and Development (台灣癌症臨床研究發展中心) have joined together to host a charity bazaar on Aug. 16 to benefit cancer patients and help with environmental clean-up efforts by recycling secondhand goods. From today through Friday the foundation will accept public donations of clothes, food, toys, CDs, books, and electrical items such as TVs, fans or stereos. The donated goods will then be sold at the bazaar on Aug. 16, which will be held in the lobby of the hospital's Chung Cheng Building from 9am to 3pm.
