    Piracy: Taichung police seize CDs

Taichung police recovered its largest haul of counterfeit CDs to date yesterday, seizing more than 400,000 CDs with an estimated street value of NT$150 million. The Intellectual Property Office under the Ministry of Economic Affairs said the success of the seizure was a full display of the government's determination to protect intellectual property rights. Following days of tracking leads and collecting evidence, Taichung police, together with district prosecutors, investigators and representatives of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, which represents the world's recording industry, broke into a warehouse and an illegal packing factory to seize the CDs.
