    Typhoon heads this way

The year's 11th typhoon, which formed yesterday morning near the island of Guam, could eventually affect Taiwan, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said. The newly formed typhoon, called Fungwong, was 1,700km away from Taiwan moving westerly at a speed of 15kph as of yesterday afternoon, the CWB said. Fungwong might affect Taiwan through its interaction with Typhoon Fengshen, which formed earlier and is lingering around Guam, the bureau said. Taiwan will continue to experience high temperatures through Thursday, the CWB said, with afternoon rain showers occurring in mountainous areas. The bureau forecast the temperature in northern Taiwan over the next four days at between 28 degrees centigrade and 35 degrees centigrade.
